"Peter Pattee b. 1644-8 Lansdowne, Eng. In 1660 he settled in Vi[r]ginia. In 1676-7 he removed to Haverhill, Mass. and res. there the remainder of his life. He established the first ferry there which is still called 'Pattees Ferry.' In 1677 he took the prescribed oath of allegiance and fidelity to England. He is said to have been the father of twenty two children by his 2nd mar. Eight were b. in Haverhill, between 1683-1696. He d. Oct. 19, 1724, Haverhill, Mass."
