Useful documents from Suffolk Probate Records for identifying the Peter's children taken from the Lyon Memorial[3]:

26 Apr 1753: Eliab Lyon, a minor, aged 17, son of Peter Lyon, late of Walpole, chooses his mother Sarah as guardian. Also, Isaiah, aged 16, and Jemima and Sarah, above 14. Benjamin, age 20, refused to choose, so Sarah is appointed, also for the minor children: Drusilla age 12, Tamar age 10, Adah age 8, Zillah age 6, and Asaph age 3.

1 Sep 1753: Henry Crane and wife Abigail of Stoughton quitclaims to Lemuel Lyon all right in estate of "my honored father, Peter Lyon, late of Walpole deceased.

15 Sep 1753: Benjamin Lyon quitclaims to brother Lemuel his interest.

24 May 1756: Thomas Foster and Mary his wife, cordwainer of Dorchester, quitclaim to brother Lemuel their interest.

27 Apr 1756: Sarah Lyon, widow of Peter Lyon, and guardian of Eliab, Isaiah, Sarah, Jemima, Drusilla, Tamar, Ada, Zillah, and Asaph quitclaims all rights of herself and her minor children to Lemuel Lyon.

8 Jan 1757: Receipt of Waitstill Evens of Dorchester; Thomas Foster and Mary his wife of Dorchester; Robert Capen and Jane his wife of Stoughton; Beulah Hadley of Dedham; Peletiah Herring and Hepsibah his wife of Dedham to Lemuel Lyon for full portion "left to us by our Hond. Father Peter Lyon, late of Walpole, Housewright, deceased". In addition to people named, also signed by Susanna Turner, Increase Leadbetter, Seth Morton, Josiah Deary, John Dickerman, Meriah Dickman, Tamar Lyon. [Note: the first four also signed by names appear to be witnesses. Assuming Josiah Deary is really Josiah Perrey, they appear to all be residents of Stoughton that have no connection to the family.]

[Note: this summary from p. 329 seems correct, but other parts of the write-up, especially the listing of children and attributing each of them to the appropriate wife has some errors that don't even agree with this summary. The expanded listing appears to be distorted by a mistaken identification of the 2nd wife as Abigail Fales (i.e., the widowed mother instead of the daughter Jemima as the record says) and assigning all children recorded in Stoughton to her. However, following the records, this is clearly wrong, and only Benjamin appears to belong to the 2nd wife. Unfortunately many of the children of the first marriage did not have their births recorded, but this source does contribute some probate documents (given elsewhere on this page) that help identify the unrecorded children. Births of the unrecorded daughters were estimated based on 2-year intervals and the order of their marriages, working around known births.]
