Received information on this branch of the family from Rick Bartolf of Massachusetts. Rick is Peter Bartolf's great grandson.

Manifest for Finland lists Peter coming to Ellis Island on February 27, 1906 out of Antwerp. He is going to his friend ? Grünwald at 1321 Cameron Street in Harrisburg. It also states he was in the US from 1902/1904. According to his great grandson, Rick Bartolf, he was in Cincinnati, Ohio. He returned to Semlak in 1913.

Peter Bartolf with his two daughters, Erzsebet and Julianna, February 18, 1914 on the Lapland out of Antwerp. Left his wife back at 258 Semlak. Going to his Uncle Adam Haybach at 1349 Park Avenue, New YorkC. He returned to Semlak in 1920.

Manifest for Madonna gives wrong names but the dates are right. Arrived in New York on September 1, 1922 and departed from Constanza. "Pierre Bartolf, his wife Elisabeta, and son "Jean" are going to his son-in-law, Bartolf, in Lakewood, NJ RFD 3.

A Nikolaus Fröhlich and his wife, Elisabeth (Schäfer) arrive in New York on the Albert Ballin out of Hamburg, Germany. They arrive with their daughter, Elisabeth and it is 7 October 1923. It says they are going to his brother-in-law Peter Bartolf living at 207 East 95th Street, New York City.

Peter's family remarks that several members of the family seem to remember that Peter returned to Semlak once again and upon arriving back in the United States, it was found that he had contracted tuberculosis. He was quarantined in the hospital on Ellis Island where he later died. His great grandson has tried to find a burial site and thinks it is possible that Peter was buried in a pauper's grave.
