    5. PEABODY GRINNELL (Paybody) was born in Saybrook, Connecticut 12 February 1733/4. He was baptized in the Westbrook Congregational Church 23 June of that year. He died in Salisbury, Connecticut 12 December 1783 and his gravestone in Old Salisbury Cemetery behind the Town Hall reads "In Memory of Mr. Peabody Grenell, who Departed this life in hopes of Glory, 12 Dec. 1783 in the 49th year of his age." He married 8 March 1758 at the Second Congregational Church of Saybrook, Charity Chapman, the daughter of Major Jedediah and Hester (Kirtland) Chapman.
