From Faye Kelley: "My mom began working in the local grocery store to support us. She could make a dollar squeal so we never missed a meal and we had clothes and they were always ironed. Mom was always the matriarch of her family and ended up becoming so for our small town (350 people). I'm prejudice but mom was perfect in my eyes and was so loved by anyone that knew her. She was granddad's sidekick...Mom always made up her face before going out and in the last days of her life she got pretty lax with makeup but she was still a beautiful lady. Her life was doing for others and she sacrificed for all of us. She became post master for several years and retired at 69. She had a good retirement and with Social Security she lived well after retirement. We tried to get her to spend her money on herself but she always found something to buy for one of us. She was closer to Mary's daughter Jana than any other grandchild but she never let it show in front of them. Being a daughter's daughter she just couldn't help herself. Paul, Louise and mom were all full of it and for the most part always happy. They loved to laugh and joke around and it was a hoot when they got together."
