    QUAY 3 "Uptergrove, March 27. - Another of the pioneers of Mara passed away on the 20th inst., in the person of Patrick McLean, of Centre Mara at the ripe old age of 94 years. The deceased was born in the county of Tyrone, Ireland, and emigrating to America, settled for a time in the township of Pickering. about 50 years ago he came to Mara and resided there until he died...His widow and six sons s urvive him. Of the latter four, John Patrick, William and Charles, reside in Uncle Sam's domain, and the remaining two, Michael and Joseph, live in Centre Mara. The funeral which took place to St. Columbkill's Church, Uptergrove, on Thursday morning, was well attended."
