  4. It is impossible to determine the birthdate. It is guessed to be 1838. The death record gives 18 May but the year given 1845 appears clearly wrong. The 1910 census says age 72 which is 1838. The 1900 census says May 1830 (possibly bur probably not 1838) but this appears incorrect and is ten years off based on the age given the same census. Pending more or better sources, 1838 seems the most reasonable estimate. Mary is his second wife, but without knowing his first wife, and since he doesn't appear to have been in Berkshire County, it is hard to identify him in censuses previous to his marriage to Mary. More research is needed.
