Patsy "Patti" Kelly Wardwell, 66, of Savannah, died February 19, 2005 at Hospice Savannah, Inc.

She was born in Fayetteville, NC, and was raised in Kankakee, Illinois, and moved to Savannah, GA in 1995.

She was a homemaker, artist and crafter.

She was a member of the Live Oak Community Church, and a former member of the Woodstock Assembly of God Church, prior to moving to Savannah, and founded a nonprofit corporation called "Jesus Loves Little Children of the World", in which she made soft little stuffed toys, cuddly clowns that convert to a pillow for a homeless, wandering child of the streets in Bogota, Colombia, for the underprivileged children in South America, Africa, New Guinea & the Philippines. She had made over 600 dolls and animals, each of her own design and she boxes and sends them to missionaries who are home on furlough. They then take the boxes with them when they return to the mission field and distribute the toys. The dolls are used in a variety of ways by the missionaries; some are given out as prizes to children who learn a Bible verse, others, such as her special Mr. and Mrs. Noah dolls, are used as teaching tools in Sunday schools in remote village churches. Many are distributed to children in mission hospitals or needy youngsters of the street. She also started 3 church school art programs.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Allen Wardwell of Savannah, GA; 3 sons, William Frank Wardwell, Douglas Duane Wardwell, and Patrick Edward Lundgren, a daughter, Stephanie Lyn Hute, brothers, Jack Harold Benoche and William F. Benoche, a sister, Joyce Goss, and 7 grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 1 - 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, with Rev. Darwin Meighan and Rev. Art Smith, officiating.
