Howe Obituary Orville E. Howe, age 62, died unexpectedly at United Memorial hospital, Greenville, December 24. Mr. Howe was born in Bay City, September 28, 1892 to Cora Belle (Goodnow) and Orville Nelson Howe and had lived in Belding since 1945, when he moved here from Owosso. He resided at 585 Kiddville St., and was Dog Warden of Belding for 14 years and was a shaper operator at Grand Rapids Chair Co. His first wife Ruth Yoder and she died in 1952 and he later married Mary Bissell who survives. His membership included Eureka Lodge 91, Odd Fellow Lodge, Greenville. Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Barbara Crandell, Mrs. Bonita Mesier, both of Belding, Mrs. Betty Smith, Oakley, Mich., Mrs. Louise Losey, Lansing; one step-daughter, Mrs. Violet Crankshaw, Belding; threee sons, Kenneth and Marlin Howe of Belding, Orville Howe, Jr., Kankakee, Ill.; one step-son, Lyle Bissell, Belding; six sisters, Mrs. Flora Best, Alma, Mrs. Celia McManus, Flint, Mrs. Etta Richardson, Owosso, Mrs. Cora Brown, Mt. Clemens, Mrs. Evia Robertson, New York City, Mrs. Beulah Reed, Phoenix, Ariz., two brothers, Dempster Howe, Owosso, Earl Howe, Raymond, Washington; 40 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Huffman Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Dean of Central Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Rest Haven Memory Garden. Pallbearers were Robert Martin, Arthur Hunsicker, Donald Titler, John House, Lewis McKee, Walter Mitchell, Ralph Tanner, Ransome Cairns. SSDI says he was born on Sept. 28, 1902 and died Dec. 1964.
