Emigrated from Sweden to U.S.A. in 1887. Swedish emigration record (S5 above) states that he emigrated to New York. However, there is no hit in the Castle Garden database under any variant of the last name. Family lore has it that he actually arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, but that those immigration records were lost in a great fire early in the 20th c. Todo: look up the actual Swedish emigration record for details (ship name, departure date etc) UPDATE: Immigrated via Boston; ship Catalonia; arrived 18 Jun 1887.
