Olive Gillig Fostoria -- A Mass of Christian burial for Olive M Gillig, 98, former ly of S Main St, Fostoria, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at S t. Wendelin Catholic Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoening Funeral H ome, Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will be held at 8:30 p. m. A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Mrs. Gillig died surrounded by her children Saturday evening, June 26, 20 04 after a short illness at Fostoria Community Hospital. She was born April 7, 1906 in Tell City, Ind. to John and Delphine (LeCler e) Kaufman. She married Earl H Gillig on Oct. 13, 1927 in St. Wendelin Cat holic Church, Fostoria, and he died Dec. 23, 1970. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Ruth) Brandt, Fremont; two sons, Do nald L (Tootsie) of Fostoria; and Jim E (Sue) of Port Clinton; a daughter- in-law, Imogene "Jean" Gillig; a sister, Clara Kramer, Indianapolis; a bro ther, Edward Kaufman, Tell City, Ind.; 20 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchi ldren and six great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are a son, Robert J; three brothers, Wm, Frank a nd Walter Kaufman; and two sisters, Emma Donahue and Minnie Schreiner. Mrs. Gillig was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and loved spending time w ith her children and grandchildren. She also loved cooking and quilting. H er devotion and commitment to her faith and family will be remembered a nd treasured. She will be lovingly missed. Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Church and schools.
