Noah Anderson Hoggatt FamilyThe Hoggatt name is an old one in American History and dates back to the early 1700's, when two brothers arrived on this continent from England. One brother became a Quaker and his descendants were pioneers who helped to open and develop this country. They were in early Virginia, the Carolinas, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Missouri, and Oklahoma. They were doctors, lawyers, ministers, plantation owners, surveyors, farmers and soldiers who gave their lifes blood for this country. Not only fighting Indians while carving out a homestead in the wilderness, but also in each war up to and including the recent Vietnam, conflict. The Noah Anderson Hoggatt family was among the early settlers of Pontotoc County, Indian Territory (Oklahoma), with descendants residing in the Union Valley area for over 40 years.
