1860 Elklick Twp., Somerset, PA Federal Census - Descendants of Jacob Hochestetler pg 193
"The inscription on his tombstone near Iron Mountain, Wyoming, a the head of the Chugwater, reads: "Noah Beal, d. 1880 aged 36 years" He died of some unknown cause while here hunting between the months of Jan and Apr 1880. His remains found in July 1886. An account appeared in a Cheyenne paper and was copied in the Waterloo Ia Courier (He may have run afoul of Indians)
