May have been married 3 or more times-Florence P. remembers Louie as the 3rd husband, the second husband (might be Charlie) left her with his 4 children (whom Sina raised) and the first husband was Sam Larson. Nelsina Immigrated from Copanhagen, Denmark. She immigrated with her maid.
She and Sam may have lived in NY. Her maiden name may be Anderson or Nelson. She thinks she had brothers, Charlie Anderson, Tinus Anderson and
Hans Nelson.
She had Nissa's (Danish Troels) in her yard.
Nickname. LDS ancestral file lists her middle name as Cathryna. Her headstone has the letter K.
Grandmother in Danish-Elimore or Olimore (sp?)
Nielsne-from headstone Cathryna-from LDS ancestral file
Sina's grandparents were well-to-do per Florence Almquist & Wanda Flanagan.
The Ancestrial file on familysearch.org states birth year as 1876-the 1900 census shows show was born in 1875. Her death cert. shows 1876. I have a photo that says she was born in 1976 in Denmark. I will used that date.
Sina had given birth to 6 children but only 3 survived. per 1910 census.
Florence Pittelkow said that when they were children she used to say "Go outside and play in the rain and get the stink off of you".
She was a housekeeper for Louie before they were married.
(Medical):cancer-from Elma Peterson Larson's Personal History page 28.
Death Cert.-Uremia due to Chronic myocarditis (6), arteriosclerosis (11) & Adenocarcinoma of the bowel (9)

Lines 54-59 Sam, Nielsina, Ruby, Dennis, Myrtle and Freeman Larson Reference number: ED[133]
Nielsine is listed as being in the US for 9 years. She is 25 years old at the time of the census so that would make her 14 when she immigrated. The year of immigration however is listed as 1881, that would have set her age at 19. So there is conflicting information on this census.

- ↑ Wanda May has her DOB as 15 May 1876.
- ↑ She immigrated to NY then took a train to Wisconsin. She was from a wealthy family in Denmark. She met Sam Larson in Milltown, Wisc. (from Wanda May and Lavonne). We called her Allemor which means "everyone's mother"
- ↑ Notes state Grandma Wilson had diphtheria. She did not die of it.
- ↑ Birthdate from GGrandma Sina's Bible pages. Baptismal record trumps this.
- ↑ Wanda Flanigan thinks she came in 1881. She would have been only 6.
Number of years in the US on 1900 census says 9 with the date of 1881. Nielsine would have been 14. However Florence Pittelkow always told me that she came over to the US when she was 16. A photo of her says she arrived here in 1892. (I believe the writing was from June Horgan, my mothers sister). I believe that the correct date is probably 1892. She would have been 17 unless it was before her birthdate, then she would have been 16. The 1910 census shows she immigrated in 1892 also. Wanda believes that she took a train to Wisconsin from New York.
- ↑ On the 1st of April 1892 she is listed on a passenger list. A ship named the S. S. Norge from the shipping line Thingvalla brought her from Copenhagen to New York City. She is listed as passinger # 34 Nielsine C. Nielsen, 18 years old, a servant. Her destination is St. Croix Wisconsin she only had 1 bag and her compartment was 4 L.D. (probably lower deck).
Information taken from New York Passenger Lists 1820-1957 available through Ancestry.com M237_584 pg 1 of the District of the City of the New York, Port of New York.
- ↑ Sam, Nelsine K., Ruby, Dennis, Myrtle and Pearl Larson.
