there is a record of his indentive of apprenticeship to his brother Robert, to be trained as a cordwainer (worker in Cordovan leather)(McLean II, sited H.W. p.17) He is also named as a beneficiary in Robert's will, with clothing, bedding and provision of "house room, washing & lodging by my sons Samuel & Stephen". He seems to have been unmarried and a lifetime protege of Robert.(H.W.17,18,44)(WeW p.2) BRr2 p.87 Nicholas memb.Roxb.Ch.15 Jun 1651.
