I think your Nicholas Kitts is the same as my Nicholas Keltz (or Kilts) who married Elizabeth and had children:

I have found this family in the 1850 Census in Camden twp., Hillsdale Co., Michigan (spelled Keltz) and in 1860 and 1870 in Nilson twp., Kent co., Michigan (spelled Kilts). There are some

discrepancies in the ages of Nicholas and Elizabeth, but the children's ages match up where they overlap. My cousin listed Elizabeth's maiden name as Palmer, but I have no idea where he got his infor
