    Born in Lowville, June 2, 1861; Died in Carthage, October 24, 1936
    Francis Dennis O'Keefe, born in Lowville, June 2, 1861, son of David and Catherine Sullivan O'Keefe, prominent Carthage resident and retired furniture manufacturer for the past 47 years, died at 12:15 Saturday morning at his home, 251 State street. He had been in ill health for the past year. His early life was spent in Lowville, where 46 years ago he married Miss Nettie L. Burrington, of Naumburg. the next year Mr. O'Keefe moved with his wife to Carthage, where for 25 years he was engaged in the manufacture of furniture as head of the Jefferson chair factory and Wilna furniture Company. He retired from active business in 1920.
    His survivors are his wife; one son, Harold, of Carthage; a daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Smith, of Coeyman's; one brother, Maurice D. O'Keefe, Staten Island; three sisters, Miss Ella O'Keefe and Mrs. William Austin, of New York city, and Mrs. David Barry of Dedham, Mass., and Mrs. J.J. Downey, Birmingham, Ala.
    The body has been taken to the Doyle funeral home in Carthage, where funeral services were held Monday morning at 9 o'clock and 9:30 from the St. James Catholic church. Internment made in Fairview cemetery, Carthage.
