Memorial Services Held Tuesday For Mrs. Alexander
Mrs. Mary Naoma Dial Alexander of Washington township, passed away Saturday evening at the Whitley County hospital where she had been admitted following a stroke at her home on Thursday.
She was born January 29, 1891 in Jefferson township, a daughter of Daniel and Amelia Ummel Redman. She was married to Harmon E. Dial of Washington township, who passed away in 1923. She was married March 12, 1929 in the First Evangelical United Brethren parsonage in Columbia City to Leon Clyde Alexander of Washington township. He passed away March 18, 1964.
The family moved to Washington township, Whitley county when she was a girl and she resided there the rest of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Washington Center United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Robert S. Dial of rural route 2 South Whitley and Herbert Dial of Fort Wayne; three step-sons, F. Weldon Alexander of Goshen; Charles L. Alexander of Fort Wayne and Eugene Dewitt Alexander of Arcola; a brother, Ralph Redman of Roanoke; two grandhcildren, one great grandchild; 10 step grand children; 10 step great grandchildren and one step great great grandchild.
Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by a step daughter, Helen Blanchard; two brotehrs, Sherman Redman, Simon Redman; three sisters, Nellie Schoenauer, Elsie Smith and Elmira Redman.
Memorial services were held Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock in the J. A. DeMoney and Son Funeral Home in Columbia City with the Rev. Raymond A. Crawford of the Washington Center United Methodist Church and the Rev. Emmett Anderson of the Faith United Methodist Church at Kokomo officiating. Burial was in the Eberhard cemetery on the Keiser road.
