    A memorial service for Nellie Honcoop of Lynden will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Christian Reformed Church, with the Rev. Paul Ilansen officiating. A private burial at Monumenta Cemetery will precede the memorial service. Mrs. Honcoop died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at the Christian Health Care Center. She was 93. The daughter of Martin and Maggie (Memmelaar) Hamstra, Nellie was born in Patterson, N.J., on April 17, 1906. In 1912, she moved with her family to the Lynden area, where she married Nick Honcoop on Feb. 14, 1935. A homemaker, Mrs. Honcoop was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where she was active in the Ladies Aid and Women's Bible Studies. She is survived by daughter Margery Holsather of Bellingham sons Marvin Honcoop of San Diego, Don Honcoop of Lynden and Larry Honcoop of Bellingham nine grandchildren numerous great-grandchildren brothers Ed Hamstra of Lynden and Calvin Hamstra of Anacortes sisters Margaret Hamstra and Henrietta Hamstra, both of Lynden, and Emma Banker of Seattle and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick, in 1965 son Willis Honcoop in 1994 grandson Robert Honcoop brothers John, Mart, Andrew and Ben Hamstra and sister Jeanne DeVries. Memorials may be made to Lynden Christian Schools, 515 Dayton St., Lynden, WA 98264. Arrangements are by Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.
