Mother died when she was 9 years old. Her dad (Henry David Bugh) found it hard to braid and brush her hair so she was sent to live with older sister. (Lilly) Her brother-in-law was a lumberjack and lived right over Saginaw Bay.

Learned to row a boat and fish, a hobby she continued to enjoy. Taught school while Levi was in Army. Wore a matching set of bracelets that given to her by Levi on their wedding day. (Check notes on the bracelets) (Linda)
