Nehemiah Magee's widow, Olive Jane, made application 1 Dec 1856 in Pike County for bounty land (under the Act of 3 March 1855) on account of her husband's military service. Her affidavit shows that Nehemiah Magee served as a Private in Capt John Bond's company of militia commanded by Col George H. Nixon, that he was pressed into service in Dec 1814, and was stationed at Fordsville on Pearl River in Marion county, Mississippi. He was discharged on 15 Feb 1815 at Stovall's Store in Pike County. Witnesses to Olive Jane's affidavit were Seth Woodruff and Elvana Magee. Olive Jane received 160 acres of bounty land.
On 17 July 1878, Olive Jane Magee applied for a War of 1812 pension, aged 60, while resident of Marion County, Mississippi. She claimed in her affidavit that her husband volunteered in the year 1813 in the company commanded by Capt John Bond, that he served for six months. She gave his physical description "5 feet 10 inches high hair light eyes blue complexion fair occupation farmer." She stated that she had not remarried since the death of her husband, and that neither one of them had been previously married before their marriage on 10 Jan 1839. Witnesses to the pension affidavit were F.C. Magee and Martha McQueen.
