    "Nathaniel Sanford. d. 1687, Hartford; m. Susannah _____. She and dau. Mary were baptized in Second Church of Hartford, June 11, 1671, and she was admitted to full communion June 17, 1671. Mr. Sanford was received July 28, 1679. On Nathaniel's death, widow m. John Buttolph of Wethersfield. Mr. Sanford was elected Chimney Viewer on north side in Hartford Feb. 16, 1656. He must have been 21 years of age and some time in the town. He may have been a relative of Thomas, Andrew, Robert and Zachary. June 16, 1687, inventory of his estate was taken and it was divided between widow and Mrs. Wilson by Court order Oct. 14, 1687. (Hartford Notes, Book 1, p. 89). Had one child. Mary, m. Phineas Wilson, a merchant in Hartford."
