Nathaniel House, "probably of Massachusetts origin", d. Lebanon, CT, 1762, m. Little Compton, RI, 13 June 1710 Hannah Davenport. Will of Nathaniel House of Lebanon, dated 7 Jun 1755, proved 20 May 1762, mentions wife Hannah; four sons Nathaniel, John, Samuel and Jonathan; two daughters Rebekah Jakeway and Hannah Carey.

  2. Birth estimate of about 1685 assumes he was about 25 when he married 13 Jun 1710. It would make him about 77 at the time of his death in 1762.
  3.   JacobusS1 makes no attempt to identify Nathaniel's parents. Source:Wilbour, Benjamin Franklin. Little Compton Families, p. 350, says "perhaps the son of Samuel House of Scituate". Nathaniel is not listed in VR Scituate. Source:NEHGR, p. 71:254, "Genealogical Research in England" on the Josselyn family (including Samuel's wife Rebecca), says Samuel had 5 children, which does not leave room for Nathaniel. Source:Otis, Amos. Genealogical Notes of Barnstable Families, p. 2:57, gives Samuel five children, no Nathaniel. Likewise, Source:Deane, Samuel. History of Scituate (Massachusetts). In summary, Massachusetts researchers of Samuel House do not list a son named Nathaniel for Samuel. Connecticut researchers of Nathaniel House suppose a relationship but have no evidence of it. So this identification of his parents is very speculative. He did name children Samuel and Rebecca, however, and the death and probate of Samuel and Rebecca have yet to be discovered, so it cannot be ruled out.
