    "2035. Capt. Nathaniel3 (Samuel2, Joseph1), b. Newbury, Essex Co., Mass., Feb. 9, 1683; died Nottingham West, now Hudson, Hillsboro Co., N. H., April 12, 1748. … It is possible there was a second wife. The history of Hillsboro Co. calls the wife of Nathaniel Mills 'Sarah,' tells of her bravery in defending the homestead (a garrison house) against hostile Indians, and says she lived till 1786, dying at the age of 102. May 21, 1745, the General Assembly allowed Capt. Nathaniel Hills £4 4s. [Provincial papers N. H,, Vol. 4.]"
