  2. Many Bowermans appear to have started using Bowman about this time. At the time of his marriage, Nathan is known as Bowerman, but his children apparently all used the name Bowman, and his death is recorded as Bowman. Nathan is listed as the son of Beulah Bowerman in his marriage record. As there is no known marriage of hers before she married Joshua Wing in 1805, it would appear Nathan was born out of wedlock. The parents listed on his death record, Curtis and Sarah, are unknown. Curtis Bowerman m. 1799 Rachel Gifford, and d. 1838 in Falmouth. As he has not been identified, and no birth record found, his relationship to Nathan is unknown, but clearly Nathan's mother was not Sarah.
