According to the Sallie DeWitt 1981 Genealogy, Narcissus may have been related to William Jennings Bryan, who was the famous Stokes trial lawyer. The progeny of N. Bryan discussed the possible relationship to this man through the years. Lee DeWitt visited the house near Mission, Texas, where he wrote his newspaper column. W.J. Bryan was born in 1860 in Salem, Illinois and, besides being the famous lawyer, ran for president three times.
