Napoleon B. Bates Napoleon B. Bates Confederate Records <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~kaye/nbbrcds.htm> Napoleon Bonaparte Bates was born in 1845 in Murray County, Georgia. He is the second child of ten. He is the son of Rice Ross Bates and Frances Jane Waters. He enlisted as a Private into Company I, First Georgia Regiment, Georgia State Line. His records indicate that he moved to Company B, 11th Georgia Cavalry. He came home on furlough and died with the measles. He is buried in the John Bates Cemetery in Eton, Georgia with many of his family.
