Nancy H. Wardwell

BOSTON -- Nancy H. Wardwell, 55, a Rochester resident and president of the Massachusetts Morgan Horse Association, died Monday, Dec. 2, 1996, at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was the wife of George F. Perkins of Stockton Springs, Maine, and daughter of the late Charles Huntington and Gladys (Newton) Wardwell. 
Ms. Wardwell, who formerly lived in South Dartmouth, was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident of the area. 
In addition to heading the Morgan association, she was active in community organizations, including the Waterfront Historic Area League, the Old Dartmouth Historical Association, and the New Bedford Yacht Club. She also served on the advisory committee to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth College of Visual and Performing Arts and was involved in the long-range planning for Club Passion in Cambridge, a folk music organizatio
A graduate of Friends Academy in Dartmouth, the Abbott Academy in Andover, and Vassar College, Ms. Wardwell did graduate work at the Boston University School of Business. A talented craftsperson and designer, she also enjoyed her work with and training of horses and spent much time sailing the area waters. 
Surviving her is her widower.
