On 1860 census, age 1, with widowed mother and siblings in Jefferson Twp, Polk Co., Ia.[p 94 fam #742/677], and "Jennie N." in Valley, Polk Co., Ia., on the 1870, age 11.[p 406, fam #96/106] On the 1880 census we find William, 23 and Nancy, 21, in Valley, Polk Co. , Ia. William's father was born in Germany and his mother was born in Poland. He was born in Ia. With them is Clarence, age 2. They are listed next to her brother Reuben, on the census record, so probably lived next door.[ED 172, p 545, fam #212/217] In 1900 we see William and Nancy in Des Moines, Polk Co., Ia. where he is 43 and a stock dealer. Nancy, 41, declares they have been married 22 years and have 3 children, all alive at that time. Carrie and Victor are with them.[ED 68 p. 34, fam #255/264] William died 6 Dec 1905. On the 1910 census, 1st ward, Des Moines, Polk Co., Ia., "Jennie" Pickenbrock, 51, widow, is living with David and Sarah (Denney) Rittgers. She declares she has born 3 children, all alive at this time. (ED 78, p. 4B, fam #98/129) Nancy died 28 Feb 1922 . They are buried in McDivitt Cemetery, Sec. C, lot 24, row 3.
