Nancy is listed as a widow in the September term, 1847, of Chauncery Court in Cooper County, Missouri, in the lawsuit involving the estate of her father. On the 1870 US Census, there is no "Nancy A.," but there is a "Mary" of the correct age, who is apparently the wife of Joseph.
