MYRICK CURTIS [handwritten Dec. 30, 48] LAKE ODESSA--Myrick Curtis, of Woodbury died Friday in Pennock Hospital, Hastings, after a brief illness. He was 71 years old.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; two sons, Cecil of Vermontville and Lloyd of Lake Odessa; a sister, Mrs. Alice Lepard of Lake Odessa; three brothers, Robert, Ira, Earl all of Lake Odessa.
Funeral services will be held from the United Brethren Church in Woodbury Monday at 2 p.m. with burial in Woodland Memorial Park.

Mr. & Mrs. Myrick Curtis Injured in Auto Accident Mr. and Mrs. Myrck Curtis of the Tamarac neighborhood both received minor head injuries in an auto accident which occurred at the intersection of Clarksville Road andM-14, seven miles northeast of Lake Odessa, at about three o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
The accident happened when the Curtis car, which had been traveling west on the Clarksville road, turned south onto M-14 and collided with one being driven north by Mr. Longstreet of Owosso. The latter was accompanied by his wife who received a leg injury. The injured were both [taken] to the office of Dr. C.H. Peabody in Lake Odessa. Deputy Sheriff Myrl E. Doty, who investigated the acident said the Curtis car was demolished.
