Maureen "Mourine" Anderson

Maureen "Mourine" Anabell Martin Anderson, 85, of Terry, formerly of Columbia Falls, died quietly Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at the Prairie Community Health Center in Terry.

Born Feb. 25, 1920, in Wolf Point, she was the daughter of John W. Martin and Anna Sophia Erickson Martin. She attended Glasgow High School and on graduation was accepted into the Montana State University nursing program.

On completion of her schooling she was employed at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls. It was at this time she met and married Robert A. Anderson, her husband of 59 years. They had two children, Barbara Lynne and Milo John Robert.

She is survived by her brother, Sherman (Mary) Martin of Marietta, Ga.; her sister, Colleen Talkington of Helena; her daughter, Barbara (Jerroll) Rittal; daughter-in-law, Debbie Anderson; granddaughters Linda Anderson of Columbia Falls, Jennifer (Gordon) Holton of McKinney, Texas, and Melanie (Loren) Knaphus, Salt Lake City, Utah; and a grandson, Robert (Katie) Anderson of Minneapolis, Minn.

Mrs. Anderson has one special great-grandson, Byron Holton, who loved to spend his summers with his Grandma Great. He will miss his Jigsaw Puzzle Pal. Mrs. Anderson also leaves behind two great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons; many nieces and nephews; and Gettie and Nina, her two very dear high school friends.

Always willing to help others, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson helped raise numerous young men and women who to this day call her "mom" or "grandma."

Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Glenn, Arnot and Iver; her husband, Robert; and her son, Milo John Robert.

She loved her Lord and served him faithfully. Mrs. Anderson was a published author with many writings revealing the depth of her faith. She always saw the positive in situations and thrived being around people. Her time spent sharing in the activities at the Senior Centers, both in Columbia Falls and Terry. provided many good memories for her.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the Glacier Memorial Park in Kalispell. Family and friends will meet the Johnson Mortuary in Kalispell at 1:30 p.m. and proceed to the cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Prairie Community Health Center, Terry Senior Center, the Montana Eye Bank in Missoula or the charity of one's choice.
