Moses Seaver was born about 1737, based on his age of 71 at his death in 1809.

The only available information concerning his parentage are the guardianship record of 16 April 1755:

"Moses Sever, son of Robert Sever, nominated Edward Whipple of Westborough as guardian, 16 April 1755 (Worcester County (Massachusetts) Probate Records, Case A-52912).

The marriage intention of Moses Sever to Lucy Johnson of Hopkinton was recorded on 25 Feb 1758 in Westborough MA (VR), and the marriage was recorded on 31 May 1758 in Hopkinton MA (VR)

Moses Seaver and family was warned out of Sudbury 18 Oct 1762 (New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Vol. 111:320)

Moses Sever from Hopkinton, his wife Lucy, Lucy's daughter Merriam Johnson, and his daughter Naby were warned out of Westborough, Massachusetts on 24 May 1766. [Francis E. Blake, "Worcester County, Massachusetts, Warnings, 1737-1788," Picton Press, Camden Maine, 1992, p.82]

A short biography of Moses Sever was published by Ward in his book "History of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts." It reads (page 441):

"Moses Sever of Westboro', m. Lucy Johnson of Hopkinton Feb 25, 1758, and lived in this town several years, near the head of Quinsigamond pond; ... He returned to Westboro' before the year 1800 and died there in 1810. His widow, Lucy, died here July 19, 1816, aged 84."

On 13 September 1808, John Baker of Shrewsbury, yeoman, sold land in Shrewsbury for $10 paid by Moses Seaver of same, laborer. The land comprised 16 rods land in Shrewsbury on the South side of the Post Road bordered on the North by the road, West and South by land of Joseph Morris and East by David Maynard. The deed was signed by John Baker, and his wife released her dower rights. The witnesses were Samuel Havens and Jonah Howe (Worcester County (Massachusetts) Land Records, Volume 171, Page 106, abstracted from FHL 0,844,368, provided by Margaret Jenks).

On 12 November 1808, Moses Seaver of Shrewsbury, yeoman, sold land in Shrewsbury for love and affection for daughter Asenath Millen of Shrewsbury, wife of Abner Millen. The land comprised 16 rods of land with the dwelling house thereon standing in Shrewsbury on the south side of the Post Road. The deed was signed by Moses Seaver, and wife Lucy released her dower rights. The deed was signed by mark by Moses Sever with witnesses Joshua Henshaw and Eliza Belcher (Worcester County (Massachusetts) Land Records, Volume 171, Page 106, abstracted from FHL 0,844,368, provided by Margaret Jenks).

In the 1800 United States Census, Moses Sever was a head of household residing in Shrewsbury, Worcester County, Massachusetts. The household included 1 male over age 45 and 1 female over age 45 (1800 United States Census Population Schedule, Shrewsbury, Worcester County, Massachusetts, Page 374, FHL Microfilm 0,205,617).

An obituary was published in the "Columbian Centinel" newspaper published 9 September 1809. It reads:

"Sever, Moses d. in Shrewsbury aged 71"
