Moses Sanderson Senior Died August 10th 1798. He was born Feb'ry 22 1721.

  3.   Quoting the note of Samuel Smith from Littleton Records, p. 471, "records say Moses m. 2'd Feb 7 1766 Elizebeth Goddard (which is supposed to be an error [because Mary is named as mother for birth of children in 1766 and 1768, and her death, under the name Mary is recorded in 1789!]) and that they were dismiss'd from the Church at Waltham to the Church in Litt Apr 13/66." This error is encountered in some secondary genealogies (e.g., Bemis Genealogy, p. 62) The records referred to are probably Bond, who p. 418, gives Moses the two wives mentioned, showing the first three births found in Littleton including Sarah, ignoring the rest of the births recorded there, and then adding a second daughter Sarah b. 1767. Comparing Bond to reality (i.e., actual records), we find that Source:Watertown, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States. Watertown Records, Vol. 3, p. 151, give the marriage of Moses Sanders (not Sanderson) to Sarah Goddard (not Elizabeth) on 27 Feb 1766 (not 7 Feb 1766). The daughter Sarah b. 1767 is found on Vol. 3, p. 152, with parents "Moses & Sarah Sanders", and the baptism of Sarah is found Vol. 4, p. 165, with parents "Moses & Sarah Saunders". The rumors of Mary (Flagg) Sanderson's death have been greatly exaggerated by Dr. Bond.
