Case 13937 Chamberlain Moses Walpole 1766 Nov 14.

Will of "Moses Chamberlin of Walpole ... Husbandman: Being very Sick and weak in body", dated 18 Oct 1766, proved 14 Nov 1766, names wife Debroah; daughter Mary Partridge; daughter Sarah Chamberlin; son Moses Chamberlin. Son Moses to be executor.

  3. Source:Cutter, William Richard. Genealogical and Personal Memoirs Relating to the Families of Boston and Eastern Massachusetts, p. 781, calls Moses the son of Abraham of Boston, grandson of William of Billerica. However, no such birth record is found, and Cutter is notoriously unreliable (e.g., he shows Moses Jr. b. 1721, when his birth record is easy found and says 1735).

A birth record in 1695 is found for a son of Thomas of Chelmsford, and this parentage is found listed in Source:Weidner, Carolyn Wilson. Chamberlain Chain, snippets, though clearly context inspected is limited.

Neither father appears to have a probate, and no evidence tying Moses to either father has been located. The marriage in Boston and settling in Norfolk county seems more consistent with Abraham of Boston than Thomas of Chelmsford.
