Mrs. Cortez Nowlin^S6, Maroa, Dies at 79.

Mrs. Minnie Belle Nowlin, 79, Maroa died at 1:45 a.m. yesterday in the Decatur & Macon County Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Maroa Township, and had lived most of her life in the village of Maroa. She was born March 5, 1875 in Maroa Township, a daughter of B.(Bivens) T.(Turner) and Rebecca W.(Wheatena) Moore Jump. On March 15, 1893, she was married to Cortez D. Nowlin in Austin Township. Mr. Nowlin, who died May 10, 1931, was a former Macon County circuit clerk. Mrs. Nowlin was a member of the Maroa Methodist Church, the Rose Acacia Lodge 266 of the Order of Eastern Star, and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Alice Wilson of Maroa and Mrs. Clayton Rogers of Clinton; a son, Oscar J.B. of Holton, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. Lydia Shaw of Decatur; two brothers, Samuel C.(Curtis) Jump of Freeport and Emanuel Jump of Maroa; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Maroa Methodist Church, with burial in Maroa Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home in Decatur from 2 p.m. Friday until noon Saturday, then at the church from 1 p.m. Saturday until time of the funeral.
