Newspaper article: "Anderson was assigned to the 46-foot cruiser Nika, which he helped build. The boat was loaned to the Coast Guard by William D. Clifton, formerly a master mechanic for the Bellingham Fire Departmen. Clifton enlisted in the Coast Reserve last April as a chief boat-swain's mate and was assigned to command the Nika. His son, Milton S. Clifton, 19 years old, enlisted at the same time as a cox-swain, and also was assigned to duty abouard the craft.
