Millie Mitchell, Native, 83, Succumbs
Millie Ann Mitchell, 2303 Washington avenue, 83-year-old native of Lawrence County, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Dunn Memorial Hospital. She had been ill since last Thursday. Mrs. Mitchell was born April 16, 1869, to Henry and Sarilda Hatfield Inman and on February 22, 1890, she was married to Francis L. Mitchell, who died February 28, 1935. Surviving are one son, Orley Mitchell of Bedford; one daughter, Mrs. Willie Gehring, Bedford; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two brothers, J. W. Inman, of Manzenola, Colorado, and Harvey Inman, of Greencastle.
A charter member of the Indian Creek Primitive Church, Mrs. Mitchell had been a member for seventy years. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Elmwood Chapel, Day & Carter Mortuary. Rev. Willie Hancock and Rev. A. N. Corpening will officiate and burial will follow in the Indian Creek Cemetery in Spice Valley Twp. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
