BIRTH: Vicki, I believe your are right that Miles Brooks of Barren Co. Ky was born in southern Virginia very close to the state line, and that after he was born the state line between Va. and S.C. was re-constructed nearer to what it is today and that change in the boundry lines of the state now made his birthplace change to Spantanburg Co.S.Carolina-so Va. and S.C. are both right. The tract of land was 191 acres situated in 96 District east of the ancient boundry on the south fork of the Tygar River bounding on all sides by vacant line and hath such shape and marks as the plat indicates.
