Michael Cunningham October 31, 2012 Parkersburg News and Sentinel

Michael Ellis Cunningham, 58, of Parkersburg, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at home.

He was born in Morgantown, W.Va., on Jan. 17, 1954, the son of Frances Cunningham and the late Beryl A. Cunningham. He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School class of 1972 and a graduate of Marietta College class of 1978.

Mike is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Joyce (Strauss) of 30 years; sons, Michael F. Cunningham of Charleston, W.Va., and Jeremy Cunningham of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Jim (Dena) of Phoenix, Ariz., and Richard (Kathie) of Huntington, W.Va.; sisters, Sue of Parkersburg, W.Va., Kathryn (Tom) of Indianapolis, Ind., Carrie (Lana) of Columbus, Ohio, and Sharon of Cincinnati, Ohio; mother-in-law, Vivian Strauss of Waterford, Ohio; brother-in-law, Gene (Susan) of Marietta, Ohio; along with other nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Mike is preceded in death by one nephew, Patrick Cunningham, and several aunts and uncles.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. today at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Dr. Paul Russell officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. today, prior to the service.
