DNA tests show Mary is descendant of Samuel Cone. William Cone is almost certainly his son. Furthermore, DNA matches on Wings have appeared, though I would like to see a little more. There are indications of a connection to the family of Philip Wing of Clinton and Jabez. I am personally convinced in fact that "Mercy Wing", while clearly not the one that married J. Goodwin, is a daughter of Phillip. Since I have only a sequence of coincidence, I don't include the link yet.

The fly in the ointment is this: There is a marriage record of Wm Cone and Mercy Wing in 1806. Its clear that there are more than one Mercy Wingsabout as there are FOUR marriages for Mercy Wing in Kennebec country in 10 years (three in Clinton)!
