Georg ye Son of Israell How and Mehittabell ye dafter of Amiell Wekkes baptized ye 24 March 88/9 ye latter not in full Com[m]union.
[Note: it appears the children are mis-reported. Not only does it appear George should be Amiel's child, born 20 March, but Israel How had a son Joseph b. 22 March. Several sources (e.g., Source:Trescott, Paul. Account of the Ventures, Adventures and Misadventures of William Trescott (1614-15-1699) His Descendants and Their Kin, p. 14; Source:Cutter, William Richard. New England Families, Genealogical and Memorial, p. 3:1139) show Amiel having twins George and Mehitable, so presumably the George and Mehitable belong to Amiel, and somehow Joseph How was left out of the record.]

  2. It seems fairly clear that Amiel had a daughter Mehitable (see commentary about baptism). Besides which, George named a daughter Mehitable before he named one after his wife. But whether they were twins, or whether Mehitable was born in the gap around 1685, is an open question. Getting baptized together does not make them twins, they are not labelled as such, and the birth record of George gives no indication he is a twin. And the 4 year gap between Amiel and Abigail cries out for a child to be born about 1685. Cutter, cited in the baptism comment, says that of the children, only George was alive in 1736 to claim land due his father for service the Canada Expedition of 1690.
