    Mary Pierce Hupkes, 87, formerly of 704 Spring St., died Friday in Community-General Hospital after a short illness.
    A life resident of Syracuse, she was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Will & Baumer Candle Company.
    Surviving are her son, Edward W. Pierce, and a stepson, Hendrick Hupkes.
    Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the John E. Casey Funeral Home and at 9 in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.
    Calling hours are 2 to 4 an 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
