Maxine Kolstee, 85, formerly of Plank Road, Corry, Pa., died on Aug. 3, 2008, in the Corry Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Munderf, Pa., on May 20, 1923, a daughter of the late John and Ida Wingard. Mrs. Kolstee was raised and educated in Brockway, Pa., where she graduated form Brockway High School. She worked as a domestic for several families in the Johnsonburg, Pa. area. Her main priority was raising and caring for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and provided for them by her gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Raymond Kolstee on Oct.15, 1983. They were married in Corry, Pa., on April 17, 1941. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Wesley H. Dibble; by five sisters: Edith Lindholm, Mildred McClelland, Mabel White, Lottie J. Wingard and Mary Claypool;and six brothers: Earl, Ed, Virgil, Ray, Bill and Bob Carnahan. Mrs. Kolstee is survived by two daughters: Marcia Koerselman and her husband, Jerrold of Clymer, N.Y., and Janie L. Dibble of Ashville, N.Y.;and a son, James W. Kolstee and his wife, Sherry A., of North Clymer, N.Y. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Susan Mallin and her husband, Kevin, Mark Koerselman, Scott Koerselman and his wife, Tammy, Tammy Kolstee, Jennifer Hansel and her husband, Steven, Steven and Todd Kolstee; ten great-grandchildren: Amber and Adam Mallin, Lucas, Katlin, Megan and Derrick Koersleman, Logan Kolstee, Zoe Jaquith, Sable and Morgan Kolstee; two great-great-grandchildren: Olivia and LouPeeta Mika; and by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service there at 12 Noon with Pastor Dave Wickins, pastor of the Clymer United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Columbus, Pa. Memorials may be made to the Clymer Volunteer Fire Department, Clymer, NY, 14724. The Bracken Funeral Home in Corry, Pa. is in charge of arrangements.
