Research notes

  • per User:Rfelsing - Well, with the date you provided I was able to find the death record. However, the actual date is one year earlier than the date on-line. I suspect a typo in entering their data on-line. No help on her birth place, as Bay City is listed and we know that is not correct. Her age is a problem. By calculating her DOB from her age at death we get, 12 Feb 1857. This does not match with 1860 census which lists her as 4 and Fredrick as 3. By calculating Fredrick's age back from his age at time of death we get 30 Aug 1857, which would match the 1860 census for Fredrick. This would put Fredrick's birth 6 months after her birth. I am guessing her age at death was 40y 3m 1d. That would be consistent with the census and with her marriage record. Death records with the county are very clearly 5/13/1896, while funeral home records are very clearly 5/13/1897!?
