Researcher Rebecca Walch believes that the first wife of Thomas the Elder of Cranfield was Sarah Saltonstall. This needs more research. The will of Sarah's father Richard was proved 19 May 1601. It mentions she was the wife of Thomas Wheeler.Citation needed
