I am posting this census, but it seems controversial. Am looking for answers but will post this anyway just to have the info available. But there are too many questions to take this as gospel.

1900 Census Dist 79, JP4, Lamar Co., Texas Dwelling #236 Jackson, Lee head W M Oct 1872 28 M4yrs TX TN TN Jackson, Ada wife W F Oct 1879 20 M4yrs 1ch;0 lvg TX AR KY Dwelling #237 Thomas, Rich head W M Mar 1879 21 M2yrs TX TX TX Thomas, Stella wife W F Mar 1882 18 M2yrs 0ch;0lvg TX AR KY Jackson, Mary mother-in-law W F Mar 1855 Wd 6ch;6lvg TX AR KY Jackson, Jim bro-in-law W M Mar 1885 15 S TX TN TX Jackson, Dode bro-in-law W M Jan or Jun 1887 13 S TX TN TX Jackson, Elihu bro-in-law W M Oct 1889 11 S TX TN TX (age written over 10) Jackson, Alford bro-in-law W M Mar 1891 9 S TX TN TX Jackson, Jesse bro-in-law W M Sept 1893 6 S TX TN TX (Mary, widow of David C., says she has 6 living children. Six appears here: Lee, Stella, Jim, Dode, Elihu, Alford is six and Jesse is a grandson, s/o Lee. But I have 8 children born before 1900 in my data base even without Stella.) Bonnie, I have written Bob Mitchell about this. He is swamped right now; I don't know when we'll get an answer. I sent him the story of Jesse Clyde not liking his new step-mother and so maybe he preferred to live with his grandparents ??? It does look in this census that he is son of Mary Frances Stanley and David C. but oftimes the census doesn't tell the whole story. This looks like Ada Ladd Jackson and Stella ? Rich are Mary's children - so maybe this is not even the right Mary to be David C Jackson's wife. Too many quesitons!
