Probate Records 1648--1924 contain a file, #18546 "Joseph Reed 1761", that notes on 27 Apr 1758 that "there is one Joseph Read who hath been Brought up in Acton in the family of mr. Mark White who is now arrived to the age of twenty one". It is hard to believe that this Joseph Reed, who was born about 1737, is not related in some way to Mark's wife Mary, though he is clearly not her son, so possibly a brother or cousin?
