There is also a transcription of an 1865 letter from Sam Madge to his cousin Edmund Vincent which states in part:

"You never saw your Grandmother [Mary] Vincent. She died suddenly in Nov. 1828. I think the 16th aged 59 years. She was such a good creature. I was then a little boy but I remember well, she was so kind to us all and had a splendid family of 9 children, and these are their names :- Mary - my poor mother, born 18 Dec 1797. Married 1819. Elizabeth Belsey - Born I think 1798. Married about 1823. Mr. Trimlett (Blacksmith) Died about 1845 James - Born 1800. Married Mrs Mary Stokes 1825 - Went to America 1851. John - your dear departed father. Born 1802. Henry - Born 1804. Married 1841 Miss Eliza Norman(?) Died about 1846 William - Born 1806. Married 1834 his cousin Elizabeth Salter. Died Feb 1843. Robert - Born 1807. Married 1834 (about) Joseph - Born 1809 (about) married Miss Charlotte Spear. Died in the winter of 1839-40. Sarah - Born 1810. Married 1834 Mr John Nethercott [sic]. Secondly to Mr. Toogood."
