McCue was a highly educated instructor and teacher. He was a most active elder in Lebanon Presbyterian church in 1875. His wife d 20, Feb. 1871, and their only child was kept at Major J. M. McCue's for a few years, but later was adopted by her uncle, Benj. T. McCue, now of Richmond, Va. ... His only child, a daughter - Mary Sheppard McCue - survives him. ...
